Our Mission:
The Ontario Provincial Police maintains an Auxiliary Program comprised of civilian volunteers. Members of the auxiliary have no police authority / power and must rely on the same arrest provision afforded regular citizens. The Police Services Act does, however, provide for instances when the auxiliary officer may be designated peace officer status.
As of December 2009, the Essex County OPP Auxiliary Program has donated a total of 10,382 hours, easily surpassing the unit's goals. Congratulations!
