Overview:

Inspector Rick Derus and the Essex County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police are pleased to confirm our agency’s partnership with “Project Lifesaver Ontario” and "Project Lifesaver International". This partnership provides an innovative rapid response program to aid victims and families of Alzheimer’s disease and other related disorders such as Autism and Down’s Syndrome. Upon receiving a report of a missing person equipped with the locator band, the OPP deploys specially trained officers who will utilize the most reliable technology to locate and return quickly, wandering adults and children to the care of their families and /or caregivers.

Essex County OPP currently has 29 clients enrolled in the Program.
